Jenn receives the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA)

Jenn Ge, a graduate student in the Polyak lab, was awarded the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award to evaluate optimal BET inhibitor combination therapies in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). The latter is an aggressive subtype of breast cancer that currently lacks options for targeted therapy.

BET inhibitor therapy is a promising therapeutic agent in TNBC, but development of resistance necessitates identification and optimization of combination therapies, as well as a better understanding of treatment response. Jenn’s proposed research will establish how to optimally combine BET inhibitors with chemotherapy and immunotherapy and will have direct translational impact in informing the rational design of clinical trial.
